Fifty-Three Minutes
Quote from The Little Prince, Chapter 23.
“Good morning,” said the little prince.
“Good morning,” said the merchant.
He was a merchant selling sophisticated pills intended to quench one’s thirst. If a single pill was swallowed once a week, the need to drink disappeared.
“Why are you selling those?” asked the little prince.
“Because it saves a lot of time,” said the merchant. “Experts have worked it all out. You save fifty-three minutes a week.”
“And what does one do with those fifty-three minutes?”
“Whatever one wishes.”
“If I had fifty-three minutes to spend,” said the little prince, “I would walk very slowly towards a spring of fresh water…”

I’ve read this book in English, Spanish, and French. It may be my favorite.

This is my adapted quote from Le Petit Prince, translated into English. The original quote is “…And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world…” I found the last two lines so moving, I had to have them! To me, it represents the inability to forget anyone. While most of the population passes by me, there are the few who stick out to me, and they always will. They became unique to me in the world, and I hope that I became unique to them. This also represents my idea that we all have one special person, whomever it should be, that is the most unique to us in the world, and they will forever remain so.
I got this done at Exposed Temptations in Manassas, Virginia, by Corey. It was an awesome experience and I will definitely be going back. Even though this is on my ribs, the pain was completely tolerable. I’m a small person, so I figured I’d have a pretty low pain tolerance, but it was very bearable, and definitely not as bad as I thought it’d be.
